Project 366 {January Hits}

A picture (or a hundred) a day for 366 days. 31 days of January already done and gone.

I love my 366 group. So many talented and kind photographers grace my FB feed every day. I love it. There’s no better way to water my enthusiasm for photography. Our collective adventure this year is to document our favorites every month.  To see everyone’s beautiful work from January, follow our 366 Hit List blog circle. Next up is the uber-talented Sarah Joos.

Most of my favorites from January are of sweet G and my dog, not because I don’t adore the rest of my family, but the three of us are together the most and I’m soaking that up while it lasts.

This month I focused on minimalistic images, and although most of my images from January are so not minimal, it’s an exercise I want to continue.

And then there’s all those in-the-backyard moments that I want to freeze forever.

Thanksgivings: Booking a trip in February with Margaret…I. cannot. wait. My parents bringing Chinese food over on a weeknight. My dog. Watching American Idol with my son. A dinner date with William at Chinatown. Watching E and C play their first games of the season. LifeAustin. Reading the Bible with Gia. Sunshine. Country music. Sunshine.

Profound quote I can’t stop thinking about: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that.” Martin Luther King Jr.

Speaking of light, Sarah’s hits from January are swweeeet. Love the light and magic in her images.

    I LOVE these. The shapes, the water. I love the abstractness of the first few. And the light of the last few. Gorgeous!
